Child Support Calculator

Our child support calculator is based on the North Carolina Child Support Guidelines for families with a combined income of less than $300,000 per year ($25,000 per month). Child support is calculated using your information about parental income, child related expenses and the number of children in your family. Please read the following instructions before using the Child Support Calculator.

Instructions

Please follow the the instructions as thoroughly as possible using only whole dollar amounts (no decimal places).

Choose the following category for Custody Type under the following circumstances:

  • Primary Custody - choose this category if the child(ren) reside with one parent and visit with the other parent.
  • Joint/Shared Custody - choose this category if the child(ren) reside with one parent but visit with the other parent for more than 123 overnights per year.
  • Split Custody - choose this category if at least one child(ren) resides with one parent and one child(ren) resides with the other.

Number of Overnights - you will need to provide information as to the number of overnights with each parent ONLY if you are using the Joint/Shared Custody category.  If not leave blank.

Number of children living with each parent - you will need to provide the requested information ONLY if you are using the Split Custody category.  If not, leave blank.
